At Wellsley Farms®, we’re passionate about providing our customers with high-quality food and beverage products that are both nutritious and delicious. Although our name may be new to you, we have over 40 years of experience in the food industry.
Our Humble Beginnings
Wellsley Farms® was founded in 1980 by the Wellsley family, who owned a small farm in rural Vermont. The Wellsley’s had a long history of growing fresh produce and believed deeply in the importance of natural, wholesome foods.
In the early days, the Wellsley’s sold their fruits, vegetables, maple syrup and other farm products at local farmers markets. Customers quickly came to appreciate the superior freshness and flavor of the Wellsley’s produce.
As demand grew, the Wellsley’s expanded into selling jams, baked goods and other value-added products made with their farm-fresh ingredients. They also started distributing their products to local grocery stores under the Wellsley Farms® brand name.
Growing the Wholesale Business
By 1990, the reputation of Wellsley Farms® products had spread throughout the Northeast. Major grocery store chains started asking the Wellsley’s to supply their stores. To meet the growing demand, the Wellsley’s transitioned from selling only their own farm products to aggregating and distributing other local products as well.
The company invested in a larger production facility with state-of-the-art equipment to support the ramping up of production. They brought in experienced food scientists and production managers to ensure consistent quality and food safety.
Over the next decade, Wellsley Farms® continued expanding distribution and added many new food categories beyond produce, such as dairy, juice, eggs, packaged deli foods and more.

Despite the rapid growth over the years, Wellsley Farms® has never lost sight of its quality commitment:
- We source many ingredients directly from local family farms we’ve partnered with for years. This allows us to ensure freshness and work closely with suppliers.
- Our production facility and manufacturing partners adhere to stringent food safety protocols. All our products are carefully inspected before distribution.
- We use natural and organic ingredients whenever possible. Our products are free from artificial colors, flavors and preservatives.
- Expert chefs, bakers and food scientists develop our recipes using high quality ingredients and traditional cooking methods. This brings out maximum flavor and nutrition.
- We listen closely to customer feedback and are committed to continuous improvement. If something isn’t meeting our high standards, we’ll tirelessly refine it until we get it right.

The natural line focuses on ingredients that are minimally processed and free from artificial additives. Products range from frozen fruit to fresh chicken breasts raised with no antibiotics ever.
Wellsley Farms® Select
The Select line delivers premium quality with unique flavor profiles not found in ordinary brands. Highlights include aged balsamic vinegar, Belgian chocolate ice cream, and artisanal cheese collections.
Wellsley Farms® Simply
Simply puts the focus on the essentials. You’ll find basics like eggs, butter, oatmeal and freeze-dried fruit with simple ingredients and great taste.
Wellsley Farms® Classics
Our classics line features family-favorite standbys like fruit preserves, frozen veggies, granola bars, crackers and more. We keep quality high and prices affordable.
Wellsley Farms® Fresh Prepared
The fresh prepared line brings wholesome homestyle recipes like chicken pot pie, mac & cheese and lemon pound cake to your grocer’s refrigerated section. They’re made with care the old-fashioned way.
Wellsley Farms® Beverages
Quench your thirst with our premium teas, lemonades, coffee drinks, coconut water, sparking juices and other ready-to-drink beverages. Clean, simple ingredients and real brewed tea and juice.
